Ready Set Go!
Let's start at the beginning. Sounds pretty obvious doesn't it but you would be surprised how many people want to skip the introduction. And yet without understanding what platform our ideas are built upon how can we possibly know whether the ideas themselves are sound?
That's what I like to do best. Strip things back to basics and then build them up again one block at a time. That way I know that they make sense from the ground up. No holes, no gaps, just solid firm foundations. My name is Ronnie Shahmoon and this website is all about those building blocks.
Naturally the first block that anyone needs to look at is themselves. After all if you can't be sure of yourself how can you possibly be sure of what you are saying? The better you get to know yourself the more likely you will be able to trust your own opinion. Seems obvious until you really think about it. But if you are lying to yourself how would you possibly know it? If you ask yourself "Am I lying to myself?" the answer will always come back "No".
So where on earth do we start the process if we don't even know who we can trust? We could ask people around us but even that may not work, because we may all be collectively deluding ourselves. Luckily help is at hand. Whenever you ask yourself a question you actually get two answers. Most people don't realize this. One answer comes from your head, the other from your heart. Or to put it another way one comes from your belief system or sense of logic and the other is a gut feeling. If you are lying to yourself your heart will tell you. That's why you often hear people saying things like "follow your heart".
Even this can be confusing though. Your gut feelings are there to guide you. Think of them as a kind of background commentary on the decisions that you make. They express how you feel about what you are doing. For example, lets say you feel bad about something even though you know you are doing the right thing, your feelings may be expressing to you some sense of guilt that you are trying to cover over. Following your heart is not simply a process of saying to yourself "well I feel bad about that so it must be wrong", instead it provides you with an opportunity to question your own beliefs "I know I am right in what I am doing so why do I feel guilty?"
To truly follow your heart to to embark on a voyage of self discovery, to overturn ideas and concepts which you may have once embraced so strongly and to find for yourself what is really important to you.
